A two-day workshop and round-table discussion

Dramaturgy as a collaborative practice
Led by K. Georgelou, D. Theodoridou, E.Protopapa

The workshop forms part of a series of encounters in European cities including Brussels, Amsterdam, Zagreb and Barcelona which will feed into a book to be published later this year. The book will provide playwrights and dramatists with tools and methodologies for (co)operating in the spheres of choreography and theatre and in other contemporary performance practices. (https://dramaturgyatwork.wordpress.com). The Athens workshop will be focused on collaborative practices in creativity and dramaturgy that are a good fit for the working conditions, requirements and interests of Greek artists. Working individually and in groups, the participants will be invited to engage with the dramaturgy of their own projects, trying out and proposing collaborative models by means of written and oral exercises and short experimental presentations on stage. The workshop will end with a round-table discussion featuring dramaturgs and other artists; the discussion will be open to the public (26 July, 17:30-19:00). A non text-centric approach of dramaturgical practices will be attempted in this discussion.

The participants of the workshop will be chosen on the basis of an open call to be posted on the Festival website: www.aefestival.gr.
