What is strength and what is weakness? Can something hailed as a victory turn into defeat? Does the truth really exist or is it only an idea? Taking the work of Heinrich von Kleist and the complainte “Tels rit au main” by Guillame de Machaut as their starting-point, the actor-director and musicians improvise around a timeless yet timely issue: the fickle fluctuations of chance, happiness and misery that topple the powerful, and exalt the defeated. This music theatre production is founded upon the reciprocal diffusion of ideas between the Ex Silentio early music ensemble and a radical new wave of young actors.
