Second World War. An awkward chess meeting takes place on board, on a ship sailing to Argentina. One participant is a world champion; the other, a stranger, who has just managed to escape a strange Nazi imprisonment. However, on his way to freedom, he still hasn’t got rid of his “bonds”. Where does all the repressed rage of a person lead to when he is no longer near his torturers? Yannis Dalianis explores the options of one actor alone on stage and by means of a dramatic multilevel narration meets the protagonist of Stefan Zweig’s Chess Novel.
