Aristophaniade
Aristophanes dies during a rehearsal after a major fall-out with his actors. When he arrives in Hades, he tries to persuade the God of the Underworld to grant him another week of life—just until the next Dionysia festival!—so he can stage his final play. Hades agrees on one condition: the great comic poet must first present all his surviving comedies to the denizens of the Underworld in just one hour. If they are convinced and consider him worthy, he will get the week he so desires. In an amazing play within a play which reveals how bitterly relevant Aristophanes remains, the audience are presented with an imaginative potpourri of his works—a veritable Aristophaniade!
