Taking the poetry of Nikos Gatsos and the music of Stavros Xarchakos and Manos Hadjidakis as its Alpha and Omega, Nana Mouskouri’s Happy Birthday Tour loops its way round the world and no fewer than thirty seven concerts on its way back home. Luckily for us, the brightest star in the Greek musical firmament has included a festive evening in the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in her international tour at which she – and we – can celebrate her birthday as she wanted to: here where it all began, joined on stage by four musicians and her daughter, Lenou, who is also a singer.
