nea SKINI – Lefteris Vogiatzis
Dimitri Dimitriadi, Labour
Two leading lights of contemporary Greek drama: Lefteris Vogiatzis, in his directorial début at Peiraios 260, directs Dimitris Dimitriadis’ latest play.
Four women and four men are celebrating the birth of a child and the birthday of its mother. As the playwright puts it: “Fertility, chiefly that of the body, is what concerns – some secretly, some obviously - all the characters of Labour. The question isn’t just ‘what sort of a world is a new-born person coming into?’, but above all else, ‘What is this new-born, and why has—and why must—he come?”
