We’ll meet again
50 years of songs

The journey...

An anniversary concert that’s heavy with memories! A celebration to mark a fifty-year journey with all its twists and turns, its peaks and troughs.

A half century of song that has been packed with charm and unique experiences! In the beginning, there were sounds! So I took these and tried to create my own—to carry on where they left off. I borrowed a few ‘still waters’ from the ever-gushing well-springs of the popular tradition, threw my lot in with this trend or that, declared my rationales, took up arms against anything that bugged me and always followed what seemed right and pleasing to the ear at the time.

My journey brought me face to face with Hadjidakis and Theodorakis so I could shake their hand! I met poets and writers and all manner of cultured types along the way and I took a little something from every single one of them. I hooked up with the performers who made my melodies their own, and they’re here tonight, with you.

I feel enriched—the whole dream-like journey gave me opportunities to build friendships and collaborations, to keep other dreams alive and to set about making them come true, too. My views on the world around us and its contradictions are all built out of my music and my guitar.

After a half century as a recording artist, I'm still a newbie with a lot to learn... If you’ll allow me to riff on the title of that famous play: “Oh, what a world, mum, dad and my dearest companions through life!”
