Orchestre de Paris – Christoph Eschenbach

Works by Maurice Ravel

Under their celebrated conductor, Christoph Eschenbach, the Paris Orchestra performs a programme dedicated to Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), the French composer and pianist renowned for his melodic fullness and finesse. In addition to the ever-popular one-act ballet, Boléro – a challenge Ravel set himself and won by proving a composition could successfully limit itself to a single melody, without variations – the programme also includes Suite No. 2 from the ballet “Daphnis and Chloé”, the choreographic poem La Valse, and the charming Mother Goose Suite of fairytales [I.M.T.]
