Euripides, The Trojan Women
How does life go on after a major defeat? How do people define themselves when their world is collapsing around them? How do we recognize ourselves in the unfamiliar landscape that emerges out of crisis? The voice of the Trojan Women rings out like a warning in the dead calm that follows catastrophe. Thirty two musicians and fourteen actors essay a musical reading of a classic work which charts the triumph and power of the victors through the suffering and devastation of the defeated.
