In his search for Laius’ murderer, whose presence -according to the Delphic oracle- has polluted Thebes and caused the catastrophic plague, King Oedipus discovers the thread connecting his life with the cursed house of the Labdacides.
Patricide and incestuous, father and brother to his children and husband to his mother, he blinds himself as punishment for the hubris he has unwittingly committed.
