Stavros Xarchakos & Marinella
Moonlight Sonata, by Yannis Ritsos
“Let me come with you. What a moon there is tonight!”
Stavros Xarhakos is inspired by Moonlight Sonata, a staged monologue by our great poet Yannis Ritsos. A deeply lyrical work, which is emblematic of the poet’s intention to “re-establish poetry as something that can both be seen and heard”, as he used to say, Moonlight Sonata takes on a new perspective through Stavros Xarhakos’ music. Marinella makes for an ideal Woman in Black. Talented Yorgos Nanouris directs this powerful and intense artistic event.
