Redwards Shift
In astronomy, the “red shift” is proof that the universe is endlessly expanding. An animal-tamer in the circus ring speaks, amid bizarre creatures and acrobats, of the emergence of a new and dazzlingly destructive species. From the hermetically sealed conference chambers with their austere rites to the arms of a Queen-nurse who makes fantasies come true, the play’s heroes are decoupled from their past, shifting the world.
