Vangelis Theodoropoulos brings a fresh directorial take to Common Tale, a thrilling account of the crucial years from the Asia Minor Catastrophe down to the Greek Civil War. The turbulent history of Greece is traced through folk narratives, heartrending personal tales and collective memories to reveal the drama of the present. These testimonies of women, passed through the filter of theatre, show history in a different light. Common Tale shares a common thread with Euripides’ Trojan Women and documents once more not only the lamentations of a nation but also, and foremost, its dignity.
