William Kentridge
I am not me, the horse is not mine
The Athens Festival presents I am not me, the horse is not mine (2008), a video-installation combining narrative, video-projections and soundtrack by the celebrated South African artist William Kentridge.
Based on Gogol’s absurdist short-story The Nose (1837), the work reflects the artist’s interest in the rise and fall of Russian modernism. The installation also served as a model for the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Shostakovich’s The Nose in New York in March 2010.
